Exercice 6 - SPECT
In the folder spect/ you will find a simplified simulation of a SPECT acquisition. Warning: this simulation need a very long computation time to reach acceptable statistic. Some variance reduction techniques exist, but are not shown here.
This is a rather complex simulation. Try to understand every elements (in particular in spect_head, spect_collimator, spect_digitizer).
The current example simulate 1 second acquisition of 1 MBq. Because it is Indium, about 1.8 millions of photon are simulated. The simulation last about 1 minute depending on your computer. A more long simulation result is provided in the folder output_ref
.
You may change the phantom (just a waterbox here) by a ct image for example. You may change the source to observe the changes.
Analysis
Use the python notebook to display and analyse the results. The notebook is named spect.ipynb
in the spect/
folder.
